April Showers Bring May Problems

Damaging winter storms followed by spring showers can lead to the horrors of a secret leak. Keep an eye out for these three signs that you may need a new roof.

A Drip

Walking through your kitchen or bedroom and feeling a drop of water hit your forehead is not normal. One of the most obvious signs of a leaky roof in need of replacement is a drip or visible wetness. If you’re using pots and pans to collect water dripping from your ceiling when it rains, it’s time to get a new roof.

Water Stains

Water tends to leave obvious signs aside from a drip or wetness. When you have a leaky roof, it may leave a noticeable yellow stain on your ceiling or even your interior or exterior walls. This can be beneficial to help you identify a leak but is a clear sign you need a new roof.

Shingles or Debris in Downspouts

If the rain is washing bits and pieces of your roof down into the gutters, you may have a leak. Sneaky leaks can be common and much more damaging than you might imagine. Just because you don’t see it, doesn’t mean water isn’t causing damage in an attic or crawl space. Shingles and roof debris in your downspouts are a sure sign that your roof needs to be replaced and that you need to check for leaks.

If you’ve noticed any of these signs, it’s time to get in touch with Seashore Construction to talk about a new roof.
